JD Reynolds & Associates is currently seeking a Facility Services Division Director - Western Region to be based out of Columbia, Maryland.  This position will require extensive travel throughout the United States for extended periods of time.  The position will work closely with the Division Vice President as well as the President/COO and have full administrative, operational, and financial responsibilities for multiple Facility Services government contracts West of the Mississippi River.

 

Minimum qualifications include:

Windows Operating Systems engineer in the Systems Engineering Platforms group of the Knowledge Management Programs (KMP) organization. Perform Windows-focused operating systems engineering for contracts that require hardware and software Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) integration. Contracts also may include some developed software and provide workstations, servers, storage and/or network devices to perform visualization and image processing capability for image analysts and geospatial analysts.

The selected candidate for this position will be responsible for designing and standardizing architecture approaches for the integration of analyst workstations, client applications and servers into overall site and/or enterprise Active Directory infrastructure. Work with customer representatives and site technical representatives, site desktop services, site security, site administrators, and network administrators to properly architect a system to accommodate the diverse set of workstations serving different purposes. Be an important part of the design, architecture, system specification and documentation of solutions for Windows based systems.

Baseline software tools to enhance productivity through process automation and capture and reporting of system/workstation status and performance. Build Windows images for workstations and servers using industry standard tools, document this process, and support the development, implementation, deployment and operations of these images. Coordinate with customers, users and other segments across the enterprise to plan for and implement system upgrades and deployments. Prepare and coordinate change requests to modify the project baseline and work to get appropriate board approvals. Contribute to operating systems sections of proposals and contract changes, including preparation of technical volume inputs and basis of estimates for Operating Systems Architecture in response to Engineering Change Proposals. Prepare and deliver customer presentations and provide site support to fielded systems. Support the customer, users and other groups within the internal organization as a leading expert in Windows operating systems.

Key qualifications:
1) Extensive experience and knowledge of Windows operating systems, including XP, Vista and Server 2003
2) Experience in operating systems design and engineering
3) Experience with COTS integration.
4) Microsoft certification
5) Proven experience in a fast-paced, customer-present environment.
6) Familiarity with the Geospatial Domain and products (and associated vendor products), and familiarity with this customer set. Experience coordinating operating system issues across a large enterprise.

Must be willing to travel up to 35% of time to local, domestic and/or international locations. Weekend and shift work is required periodically.
