As a champion of the Skilled Services, they will make home visits, supervise, manage and mentor the LPNs and RNs in the field, encouraging teamwork with all the professionals involved on a case in order to provide the most comprehensive, rehabilitative and sustaining care to the Agency’s clients. And finally, they will be directly responsible for the recruiting life cycle for the nurses who will be working in the field receiving skilled service orders. This will include but is not limited to recruiting, interviewing, administering skills tests, on-boarding and orienting all new hires.
As the position grows, the variety of duties and responsibilities too shall grow from Clinical Intakes to coordination and Marketing of the business to sustain future growth. Outlined below are some duties and tasks associated with the role which will be evolving and developing through time:

SPECIFIC TASKS:
a. The autopsy assistant receives, identifies,
releases and moves deceased persons from refrigeration storage; prepares
deceased persons for autopsy examination; assists pathologist in dissection of
deceased persons and the removal of internal organs.
b. The
autopsy assistant maintains morgue and autopsy room in a clean, sanitary and
orderly manner; cleans and sterilizes equipment; checks for proper ventilation
and condition of equipment; orders and maintains autopsy, office and other
needed supplies.
c. The
autopsy assistant examines and records external identification characteristics
of deceased persons; such as height, weight, hair, eye color and scars.
d. The
autopsy assistant works with bodies of deceased persons which may have
infectious diseases.
e. The
autopsy assistant is responsible for equipment and clean individual work area
daily, including machinery used.
f. Equipment
inventory. Anticipate supply and instrument needs. Order new supplies
sufficiently far in advance to prevent shortages. Maintain supplies on shelves
in appropriate storage areas for autopsy.
g. Teamwork.
Instruct laboratory and non-laboratory personnel of departmental policies and
proper techniques whenever circumstances dictate. Technician does not give
instruction outside his/her job area.
h. Safety.
Tissue storage. Store, handle, and bag tissue and specimens in a manner that
minimizes contamination and unnecessary exposure. Keep the autopsy area clean
and safe. Follow safety plans and
standards listed in the hospital wide and laboratory safety manuals. Notify
supervisor and complete appropriate forms for on-the-job accidents or injuries.
i. Customer
Service. Prepare cases for consultation and confirmation, as requested by staff
pathologists, to Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, University of Maryland
Medical Systems, or other outside institutions. Slides should be pulled. Record
cases that are sent. Missing cases should be reported to supervisor.

Part-Time Registered Nurse (Case Manager) Summary
Fulfill case management for 25-30 individuals with developmental disabilities. The RN will be responsible for overall case management of the client’s health as well as providing direct nursing care within the scope of the agencies license to all clients as needed. The RN will monitor all chronic and acute conditions as well as the health trends of the clients. The RN will delegate medication administration and other delegable tasks to unlicensed staff in accordance with the Maryland Nurse Practice Act. The RN keeps the Deputy Director updated as to the Health Status of the all clients.
Responsibilities of Part-Time Registered Nurse (Case Manager) Includes
The RN Case Manager must possess good people management skills as evidenced by the ability to effectively teach, delegate, monitor, and coordinate nursing duties, medical management, and all other elements of an individual’s health care.
The RN also serves as a member of each individual’s Interdisciplinary Team, Management Team and Healthcare Team.
In the capacity of team member the RN will always maintain positive, cordial, collaborative and mutually respectful relationships.
The RN must display good communication skills such as active listening, the ability to clearly and effectively convey information verbally and in writing via all mediums including electronic.
The RN has a professional obligation to keep abreast of the Maryland Nurse Practice Act as well as to seek continuing education opportunities.
Job Duties:
Evaluate all potential clients to determine if the Agency can meet their medical and nursing needs.
Complete other nursing assessments on clients not receiving delegated nursing services as deemed appropriate by the Deputy Director.
Complete post hospitalization nursing assessments on all clients being discharged from the hospital to insure that they are chronic and stable.
Triage all clients as they become ill, directing to appropriate health care professionals and complete appropriate documentation.
Attend psychotropic medication review as needed.
Serve as a liaison between all physicians, healthcare providers, and the Agency.
Maintain nursing data base and other documentation as needed.
Other duties as deemed appropriate for a professional nurse by the Deputy Director.
